About me

IMG_2899

I started this blog as a place to discuss the lighter side of disability. I am a wheelchair user as a result of a childhood spinal injury and wanted a forum to write about my day-to-day life, travels and work. Many of these can, and do, involve challenges that often need a strong sense of humour to deal with!

I live in Windsor with my husband and my 10-year-old step daughter. I’m a keen traveller for both work and pleasure; my passions include skiing, water sports, live music, great food and wine, and spending time with my family and friends.

With a background in HR and recruitment, I’m a disability consultant, trainer and speaker. I founded My Plus Consulting in 2006 to help organisations understand and address the issues around disability. In 2013, we launched website www.greatwithdisability.com to provide students with all the information they need to prepare for school leaver and graduate job applications and the recruitment process. The website is a platform for organisations to market themselves as an employer of choice for disabled students.

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog.
